Once upon a time there was a little polkadotted dachshund named Pixie. Pixie lived a very comfortable happy life with her family, Peter & Peggy, in Texas. Pixie was the center of her owners’ world and all was well.

One day Peter and Peggy brought home an itty-bitty baby wrapped in a fuzzy pink blanket. They named the new baby Penny.

Pixie the polkadotted dachshund loved that Peggy was now a “stay at home” mom. Unfortunately, the new mother was often frustrated because she was constantly leaving the new baby’s stuff (and there was LOTS of stuff: several diaper bags, strollers, carseats, pack n’ plays and more) all over town. She was forever forgetting things at friends’ houses, the mall, restaurants and even the grocery store (hey, this motherhood thing can be quite challenging!). Peggy struggled to find fun affordable ID tags to put on the baby’s belongings. So, she began creating her own identification tags. She put them on EVERYTHING. Soon other mommies wanted ID tags for their babies’ things. And Peggy’s friends began asking for bag tags for their luggage and briefcases. Peggy even made a special tag for Pixie’s pet carrier when she visited the vet.

Before Pixie’s owners knew it, a business had formed. All they needed was a name for the business. They thought and thought and thought. Peter and Peggy wanted the name to be very special.... something as fun and unique as the tags they were making. Suddenly it came to them. They would name the business after something that made them laugh and smile – their precious polkadotted dachshund, Pixie. Thus, PolkaDachs was born!
